Conference Workshop

Strategic Management of Real Property in the Corporate Environment
by Dr. Karen M. Gibler
Workshop timing: October 5th 9:00am – 1:00pm
Venue: Dubai Real Estate Institute

No matter what industry your firm is in, you have to have space in which to conduct business. Real estate accounts for at least 30% of the total assets of companies around the world. Real estate operating expenses are second only to payroll costs for most firms. No matter whether a firm chooses to own or lease its space, hire real estate staff or outsource property functions to service providers, understanding how real estate contributes to the financial success of the firm is essential to maximize the firm’s value.

The workshop focuses on how corporate real estate management can be integrated into the firm’s strategic plan to ensure that real estate is seen as an essential resource that can contribute to the profitability of the firm. The state of corporate real estate management in the U.S. and Europe is discussed, as well as trends for the future. The focus is on current issues such as the changing workspace, occupiers’ preference, and outsourcing corporate real estate management.
